5/8/24 "How Can You Know the Real God?" part 2 S4E14p2
The pro-Hamas protests got turned up to eleven recently as several college campuses nationwide fell victim to violent antics by alleged protestors who were loudly demanding the right to eliminate Jews from the earth. These protests, of course, were no more than Occupy Wall Street and Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone back just in time for another election, and they met with similar fates, complete with police in riot gear, mass arrests, and even a presidential condemnation. Well we just did an episode on protest last week, so today we will use these campus catastrophes where students are damaging their own cause trying to save the world with virtue signals to continue to ask, “How Can You Know the Real God?” After all, are these protests not, at their core, religious in nature? Just about the worst thing you can be called these days is “judgmental,” or any of its daughter terms like “racist” “sexist” “-phobic” of any kind. The secular religion of the modern world says that everyone is equally correct and valid and equal in every single way all the time, so saying otherwise makes you judgmental. A bigot of some kind. Well all week long, Something’s Happening Here is preaching the everlasting gospel with our episode “To All the World as a Witness,” and Revelation 14:7 says that gospel includes a judgment aspect. Is it possible that the modern judgment-phobia of the world is the workings of the devil, even when spoken in the name of Jesus? We’ll discuss that and more on today’s show, “The World Wants to Avoid Being Judged And Thus Guarantees Its Own Judgment.”

I recently had a conversation with an enthusiastic Christian believer. When I asked him to explain the gospel to me, he used many words to say, essentially, “be nice to each other.” He didn’t mention Jesus once. This was just the most recent example for me of what I’ve known for a long time, unfortunately: despite one of every three people on earth claiming the title “Christian,” the gospel is not very well understood at all.
